Mini Lesson: So we are reading a hybrid genre book it contains
nonfiction science and a personal narrative that is fiction. Sometimes that is
called science fiction. The great thing about science fiction is the mixing of
the genres and that we are lucky to fiind lots of unique text features. Today I
want you to put on your science , So I want you
and your partner to skim through the pages of Chapter 2 and try to find
some science text features.
For example: Bold print,
highlights, diagrams.
Guided Practice: Show a page under the projector. Step 1 find the text feature Step 2 highlight the text feature Step 3 Explain to me why it helps us with understanding the science of the book
Independent Practice: PASS OUT Copies of the book to each
partnership and have them explain and highlight
