Lesson: Today
before we begin to understand and read chapter 5 I want everyone to build a
prediction of what we think is going to happen in this chapter. When you make
a prediction you look at what we already know about the text and we take our
own knowledge and we make a guess.
Guided
Practice: So
let’s build what we know about the book so far and then make a summary of
information.
Now,
I want you to retell the story to your partner. Now we will build our predictions and we
will write this predictions on the top
of the page and we are going to underline turn it into a tree map so as we
are reading we are going to find evidence to support and not support.
So
what do I need to write a prediction: We are going to create a compound sentence.
And we are going to make sure our sentence has a modal verb. Like may might
could
I
predict that Mrs. Frizz will take the students on more adventures through
rain forest and they might go through a food chain from omnivores to
herbivores or decomposers.

Lesson: Today
we are going to continue to build evidence to support our prediction by
reading with partners. We are going to read with our partners and try to
discuss what is the best way to read accurately and for understanding. Some
students in this class still need to work on developing the skills of reading
multi syallle words and chunk the words so you can hear all the sounds and
even find root words.
Guided
Practice:
Read passage and find the multi syllable words and chunk them. I want you and
your partner to find at least 15 words that have chunks that help you read
them. After your done go back and re read so you and find evidence to support
your prediction.

This helps us to recollect what we’ve learned .” this is the strategy I want you to practice today but you are going to do it with a partner.
